Personalities of Landreth

Lady Aenwyn Eladrin ghaele of winter and guardian of Eobryn's family, Aenwyn sacrificed her life and soul in Eobryn's place to destroy the Black Angel.

Alkyrie Advanced storm titan druidess famed for her bird training skills, she is called the Storm Mother, and is believed to be the progenitor of Landreth's storm giants. Alkyrie long ago turned away from the evil of her titan kin, and her storm giant children follow her in that regard.

Badir Twice-Born A formerly dead god of a desert pantheon, Badir was kept "alive" as a sleeping ghost of a god linked to an old temple in Sigil, where the Knights awakened him during their battle against Tenebrous and the Last Word. Moradin re-forged him into a dwarf and Badir used the First Word to simultaneously destroy the Spiral of Chaos and heal much of the Blacklands. Using the First Word restored Badir to life as an exarch in Moradin's service. Badir's divine sphere of influence is water, and his realm in Dwarfhome is known as Riverheart.

The Dark Plea Malign entity of an unlikely Far Future who used the Region of Dreams to reach back into the true past seeking to alter events so as to bring its dark future and itself into existence. Its chief servant was the Malgoth, the remnant of a demon prince who had commanded multiple Abyssal layers, but was destroyed in the ancient past by a cabal of seven rival demon lords and princes, who, depleted by the conflict, then met their own mysteriously unlucky ends at the claws of their own demonic rivals. By revealing itself to, and being purposely defeated by, a Vigil group, the Malgoth attracted the attention of Lady Shannon, the Gesaedere of Eldreth. When Shannon sought to identify the Dark Plea with her fate-spanning prophetic abilities, she fell into the Dark Plea's trap and was possessed. The Plea sought to use the Gesaedere to permanently anchor its Abyss of Possibility - a conduit between its Far Future and Eldreth. The Knights rescued Shannon, closed the Abyss of Possibility and drove off the Plea. Immediately prior to Shannon's possession, the Malgoth lured the same Vigil group to a lesser Abyss of Possibility on Lifefire in Flamespace, intending to slay them, but was again defeated, and the Abyss of Possibility closed. The Plea then slunk back into Eldreth with a subtler tactic, re-creating the long-destroyed hag Circle of Wrath to be its agents, and spreading its evil through war and conquest. But led by Hendrix, the Vigilar and their allies defeated the Circle's Blacklands army at the walls of Caer Trildane, and aided by the willing death of the new Gesaedere artifact wielder, Norn-touched Eobryn struck down the Plea itself. The Dark Plea would have survived even then, but hidden by the actions of the Grey Lady, Taylor Sands Magus was waiting for the weakened Plea's retreat. Taylor unleashed the wrath of the Lords of Time and erased the Dark Plea from existence once and for all.

Prince Endavir Prince of the Island of Summer, who is dedicated to the philosophy that the Isle of Summer exists to help the elves of Landreth make the transition to Arvandor, and that it should not become involved in the conflicts of the mainland for fear of retribution.

Eobryn Human ranger of both Norse and Aelfir blood, son of a thane, brother of the Gesaedere Lady Shannon, love and slayer of Lady Aenwyn. He later traveled with Lady Aenwyn's former faerie mount, Haladrutha (also called Storm Herald, Sea Foam, Ghost Steed, and Moonfeather), as well as his squire, an orphaned lad called Derek. Eobryn was called the Fateless, as Lady Aenwyn's death in his stead had ripped him from the skein of Fate. He battled the Blacklands in this state and accomplished much, though his companions and allies often suffered the dark fates he avoided. Eobryn finally bargained with the Norns and was their instrument in striking down the Dark Plea. Only as the Fateless was Eobryn able to defeat the Plea, but in so doing, he was restored to the skein of Fate and was Fateless no more. Thereafter, Eobryn, Aelfir's greatest hero against the Blacklands and all their evils, became High King of Aelfir, and ruled over seven decades. He became known as Eobryn the Great, and his rule was a golden age for Aelfir.

Eoin Kincaid Ex-member of the Knights of the Sword Coast, who was a rilmani agent and a loyal advisor to King Kerlain. After Kerlain's death, Eoin retreated to the Southern Empire with Kerlain's two young tiefling children. Knowing the children to be in great danger from those seeking to kill them, use them to seize Aelfir's throne, or both, Eoin manipulated Uladriel, in her Fate-driven role as Speaker of the Elves, into banishing the children to safety on Hecht, thus severing their fate from Aelfir's. Years later, High King Eobryn summoned Eoin back to court, and to the shock of many, appointed Eoin High Steward of Aelfir, to hold the throne in trust for the next High King after the heirless Eobryn's death. Eoin Kincaid, though older than Eobryn was, appears no older than fifty, even after a stewardship of over two decades. When asked about his unnatural youthfulness, he mentions elven blood and changes the subject.

Fjellvar, Lady Theldaria, and Faevryn: Voadkyn druid, seelie enchantress, and firre eladrin, these three died to bring the Wand, the Sword, and the Crown into the mortal realm and bind them to Eilan Nam Ailur. Faevryn was infamous for forging the sword Noiran-Ayn-Foirre, Fire Mist, which was destroyed by Eobryn in striking down the Dark Plea.

Gathra the Hag Greenhag blightlord druidess who served the Dark Plea. Gathra first came to prominence when she unleashed Malgarius, the Demon Tree, on Caer Trildane while most of its heroes were away in the Blacklands. She had allied with Duke Bradeg of Cagair, who had an army at Caer Trildane's walls in pursuit of his young heir, who had fled with Bradeg's illegitimate daughter under the mistaken impression that Bradeg meant them both harm. When Uladriel and her allies, holding Caer Trildane in Hendrix's absence, refused to turn over the fugitives, Bradeg allowed Gathra to activate the demon seed in which Malgarius was imprisoned. Uladriel and her allies were able to defeat the Demon Tree before it could permanently absorb Caer Trildane. Bradeg claimed not to have known the full extent of Gathra's evil, and paid damages for his actions to Hendrix, but Gathra was soon seen again attempting to recover the seed from Uladriel, and only abandoned the Demon Tree after Uladriel and her allies imprisoned Malgarius in one of the Wells of Darkness of the Abyss. Gathra next appeared as a leader of the hag Circle of Wrath. She was the Dark Plea's voice among the Circle and its emissary to Duke Bradeg, who learning nothing from his past mistakes, allied with her again. When the Circle's army was defeated at Caer Trildane, the Dark Plea manifested through Gathra to directly intervene in the battle. It was while wearing Gathra's form that the Dark Plea was struck down by Eobryn, whose blade slew Gathra as well.

The Gesaedere The power of prophesy, a gift and a doom created by Titania, to see and change the skein of Eldreth's fate. The mantle of the Gesaedere bound itself a single human female at any one time, who was born and died the Gesaedere. It did not appear in every generation, but always in ages of trouble and turmoil. The last of the human Gesaederes was the Lady Shannon, Eobryn's sister. She was a weak vessel, and allowed herself to be possessed by the Dark Plea. When the Fatemaster Taylor took the mantle of the Gesaedere away from Shannon, the Knights chose not to release it. Instead, they created an artifact of it, a magic item that could assume many item shapes, and which was imbued with the personalities of all of the six Knights and of the great wyrm silver dragon Kalerim. This intelligent artifact Gesaedere would seek out worthy individuals throughout Eldreth to wield it for a time, then absorb a shadow of their personality to add to itself, and move on. Thus the Knights hoped the Gesaedere would be both more effective and less vulnerable.

Hendrix Cinderbane Warden of the Eastern Marches, and a Great Duke of Aelfir in all but name, Hendrix is an archwizard, the lord of Caer Trildane, a Vigilar, and husband to Shannon Cinderbane, grand druidess and former Gesaedere. Both have lived beyond a normal human lifetime, but are such legendary figures that none question how. The why is well-known, as both Hendrix and Shannon have sworn never to rest until the Blacklands are no more.

Johan High King Kerlain's Chancellor, who served as unofficial High Steward until High King Eobryn ascended to the throne.

Kerlain Fallen High King of Aelfir, secretly a cambion. Prophesy and the manipulations of the fey put Kerlain on the throne, where he ruled well and justly until assassinated by the Shadow Whisper during Shannon's possession by the Dark Plea.

Krathanos Imperius Advanced fire titan battle champion and warlord, Krathanos claims the title of the Supreme Flame of Surtur and rules as Emperor of Krathanar from his capital of Kongen-Thulnir. Krathanos is an ancient being, who ruled a giant empire in Landreth's prehistory. He became a terrible tyrant, and after being defeated by Alkyrie, was imprisoned for centuries by the druidic Order of Storms on their hidden island. Over time, most of Krathanos' fellow captives died, but he persevered, until the Vigilar Uladriel and her companions were forced to unbind the island's remaining magic and free its surviving prisoners in order to tap the Order of Storms' Library of Last Resort. Krathanos had grown even more insane during his imprisonment, but as fate would have it, his mind was injured by Uladriel in battle, and in seeking healing upon regaining his freedom, he found himself cured not only of his injury, but also of his madness. Krathanos surprisingly allied with Uladriel and her companions shortly thereafter, venturing with them into the Abyss, where he protected the imprisoned souls of eladrin children and rescued the stolen souls of sailors Uladriel and her companions were seeking. In return for this aid, the Vigilar and their companions assisted Krathanos in assuming control of the giant city of Kongen-Thulnir, from which he established a new empire of fire and earth giants and titans.

Naarash Balor demon who battled and was defeated by Landreth's elves millennia ago. He was imprisoned by eladrin high mages in a large crystal buried in a mountainside, in the hope that over time he would weaken and fade from existence. A thousand years ago, a nation of giants built a fortress in said mountain and found the Eye of Naarash. The demon's prison had also weakened over the long years, and Naarash had learned to physically manifest near the Eye, and to bind his soul to a worshipper's with a shard of the Eye, thus strengthening himself. Naarash corrupted the giants, causing great death and destruction, but the survivors turned against him, abandoning and sealing up their ruined fortress with powerful wards. Naarash weakened again until a hobgoblin prophet somehow opened the giants' ruin, now known as the Pillars of Night, and founded the Bane cult known as the Hand of Naarash, which answered to the demon through a Voice soul-bound closely to the demon. The hobgoblin prophet became the first Voice, until he was slain and replaced by another hobgoblin, who himself was slain by a human paladin of the Golden God named Jaryn, who was corrupted into the Hand's final Voice. Jaryn was brought to his senses by Zallara's group of heroes, and repudiated Naarash, dying upon severing his soul-bond to the demon. Zallara's heroes then slew Naarash, who was able to manifest as a mighty barlgura to battle them. Naarash's death shattered the Eye, slaying all those of the Hand soul-bound to Naarash, but also finally freeing Naarash to return to the Abyss.

Ruaghwy Fey master archer, former adventuring companion to Uladriel, and present Commander of the Silver Guard which defends Eilan Nam Ailur.

Savasti Delyth Vampire lord and star-pact warlock, Savasti owns the Delyth caravanserai on the primary north-south road through Fior-Coille. She dwells in a played-out mine beneath the caravanserai and feeds only on troublemakers and those threatening the peace and profitability of her enterprise. While she is certainly evil, Savasti is primarily cautious and self-interested. Over a century old, she long ago parlayed her star-pact skills into a gift for prophesy, and is privy to many secrets.

Lady Snowmane Advanced eladrin ghaele of winter feyborn wizardess who often speaks for a faction of fey who meddle deeply in Aelfir. Her exact position and influence among Landreth's eladrin and their fey allies remains mysterious, but her personal power is unmistakable.

Tuttle A gnome of unknown importance who acts as the unofficial fey ambassador to Caer Trildane.

Uladriel Ilvanahine The ruling High Lady of the Silver Isle, Eilan Nam Ailur, an eladrin high priestess of Sehanine Moonbow and a Vigilar.
